New evidence has emerged about the origin of the coronavirus, with French scientists claiming that the virus was present in their country several days before Corona's appearance in China.
Samples of a 27-year-old patient admitted to a nearby hospital in Paris, France, on December 27, 2019, were re-tested to confirm the coronavirus.
The Frenchman had to go to the hospital emergency room to complain of bloody cough, fever, and headache, which was later admitted to the ICU. Corona's condition improved two days later on December 29.
The French national, who contracted the coronavirus, traveled to Algeria in August 2019, after which he did not travel abroad. Her son also had corona-like symptoms before the man became ill.
Scientists say this proves that the virus was spreading in France long before it appeared in China.
Doctors in France have re-tested samples of patients with corona-like symptoms between the beginning of December 2019 and January, after which it was revealed that a patient with a coronavirus was present in France in December 2019.
During the process, French doctors examined samples from a total of 124 patients, one of whom tested positive for coronavirus.
The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in France so far is 169,462, while more than 25,000 people have died from the epidemic.
It should be noted that the United States and many other countries are blaming China for spreading Coronavirus in the world. The US President has repeatedly said that Corona spread from China's Wuhan laboratory.
China is also accused of trying to cover up the outbreak instead of informing the world about it, which allowed the virus to spread around the world.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says more preliminary cases are likely to emerge, and spokesman Christian Lindmeyer urges countries to use such cases to get a clearer picture of the outbreak. Check it out.
The patient was a 43-year-old man from Bobini, northeast of Paris, said Dr. Cohen, head of emergency medicine at Avicenna and Jane Verdier hospitals near Paris.
He told the BBC's Newsday program that the patient must have had the infection between December 14 and 22, as it takes between five and 14 days for symptoms of the coronavirus to appear.
Her patient, Amerochich Hamer, was admitted to the hospital on December 27 with a dry cough, fever, and shortness of breath. Symptoms later known as the main indicators of coronavirus.
Just four days earlier, the WHO's China office had reported an unknown cause of pneumonia in the Chinese city of Wuhan.
Mr. Hamar told the French broadcaster BFMTV that he had not left France before he fell ill. Dr. Cohen said that when the patient's two children also fell ill, his wife showed no symptoms.
But Dr. Cohen pointed out that the patient's wife worked in a supermarket near Charles de Gaulle Airport and could contact people who had recently arrived from China. "Most customers came directly from the airport, yet they kept their suitcases," said the patient's wife.
"We're surprised she was rude," said Dr. Cohen.
France is not the only country where subsequent cases have been investigated. Two weeks ago, an autopsy in California revealed that the first coronavirus death in the United States had occurred about a month earlier than previously thought.
